Whilst I found the staff friendly enough, the room was very frustrating given the price I paid. I appreciate that toasters are no longer allowed, but I had to boil the jug for a cuppa either in the bathroom or the lounge room floor! There simply wasn't enough power points. This is a safety issue and not good enough. As for the wall thickness, I heard the couple next door have passionate sex on the first night, and the toilet flushing on the 2nd night. Goodbye Best Western.
Arriving at 8:30, when the buffet closed at 9:30, we found no bread, one pastry, hardly any fruit, no eggs, no baked beans, two cold tomatoes, two cold sausages, a few cold potatoes, no bacon and a broken pancake machine. Shortly after, the coffee machine broke.
I needed to ask a staff member to restock, who seemed very surprised at the request.
They restocked the bread straight away and attempted to fix the pancake machine but couldn't. After 15 minutes some bacon and baked beans were brought out, the bacon was so undercooked it was basically warm ham, and the beans were cold.
In the end, we paid $35 for a piece of cold toast and a glass of water each. I say cold toast because the toaster machine is so old and slow, while the bread appears toasted, it's stone cold.
This was really inconvenient, we wanted to eat breakfast and get on our way. This terrible buffet meant we needed to stop somewhere else and buy another breakfast.
Our feelings are not unique, all the other guests in the dining area were commenting how simply terrible it was. Speaking of, there were only about a dozen people there, hardly enough people to have rushed the buffet and depleted it to the level it was.
Nice place with good size comfortable rooms. My only grouse is that they didn't have health faucets in the bathroom. High time hotels outside of Asia started fixing these. The airport is almost 20 kms away and please don't make the mistake of taking the sky bus from the airport to this hotel. After we got down at the closest stop we had to walk uphill for a good 15-20 minutes and that too with luggage.
Came here for dinner with family and got the seafood boil. the service was prompt, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. shoutout to harold who made our food tonight. will definitely come back again the next time i am in hobart.
Nice location, plenty options of nice food nearby. Also nice view from top floor.
But not recommended, when I stayed in October, it was super loud sound (of wind and traffic).
I had earbuds of noise cancellation, and putted pillows to cover my ears. It is still hard for me to fall into sleep.
Good affordable hotel. Older style hotel that's been renovated. Good for groups abs families.
the first time at this best western hotel. Discovered the new chef the food is probably the best I have had here or overseas. I wish there were more than five stars. It should be tasted.
It's just a hotel. Nice staff friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for easy walking into the cbd.
